Having run for over 20 years, and winning two major awards last year, the RAF Cosford Air Show is a popular day out with every generation and with children under 16 getting in for free it’s the perfect opportunity to get the family together. We are giving one lucky family the chance to attend this wonderful experience on Sunday 8th June 2014 absolutely free with 2 tickets being up for grabs.
Whether it’s reminiscing about the ‘Good Old Days’ while watching the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight or standing in awe of the Red Arrows who are celebrating their 50th Anniversary the flying display, lasting 6 hours, holds delights for all. Other military aircraft included in the flying display are the RAF Chinook and Army Apache taking part in an exciting demonstration of their combat capabilities along with the Tucano commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First World War in a special paint scheme. Civilian aircraft include the Breitling Wing Walkers, the Canberra PR9 and the Blades.
For those who are not aviation enthusiasts there is plenty to see on the ground! There is a large indoor craft fair along with three different hangars filled with interactive displays showcasing the best of both the Royal Air Force and local organisations, including open aircraft allowing you to sit in the cockpits. Outside you will find a large fun fair, plenty of simulators for those future pilots out there, impressive arena displays including the Combined Royal Air Force Pipes and Drums, an abundance of food vendors and more traders displaying their goods.
