  With just under 4 weeks until the start of the Royal International Air Tattoo 2013 at RAF Fairford, the RIAT team held their annual media launch event on the 18th June. As part of this launch, 40 members of FRIAT were invited to attend and experience another side of the RIAT experience. Adam Duffield and Duncan Monk were amongst those lucky few.

  Over the weekend of the 8th and 9th of June, the skies above the west coast of Sweden were filled with aircraft noise of a different kind when the Gothenburg Aeroshow was staged after a break of 3 years. A number of the AeroResource team attended in search of some Swedish SAAB beauties. Adam Duffield reports.

  Produced in large numbers the P-40 or Tomahawk, Kittyhawk or Warhawk as she was also known, was a ruggedly effective and potent fighter of the Second World War. Now, some 70 years on, surviving Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk 43-5802, has been rolled out in a scheme not seen on a P40 in the UK before. Words by Jamie Ewan, with photography from Steve Barnes.

  No one can accuse Duxford of failing to recognise it's own history and indeed the history of aviation in the United Kingdom. Spring 2013 represented a key anniversary, marking 70 years since the 78th Fighter Group arrived at RAF Duxford - which the Imperial War Museum rightly used as the centrepiece for their Spring Airshow.   Whilst the RAF were commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the legendary Dambuster raids this year, the Royal Navy were also organising an important series of events to remember the largely forgotten efforts of the sailors and airmen who served in the Atlantic theatre. Without their sacrifice, vital supply routes from the USA to Europe would have been severed and the Allies would not have stood a chance against the overwhelming forces of Nazi Germany. Michael Lovering reports from Liverpool.

  Founded originally in 1962 as Britannia Airways, the airline commenced operations under the name Thomson on 1st November 2008. Since then the airline has come on leaps and bounds, becoming one of the world's largest Charter Airlines. Thomson Airways is part of the TUI Travel PLC and is the UK's third largest airline, operating a fleet of some 58 aircraft. Aero Resource's Jamie Ewan reports from Manchester Airport as the Airline takes its next leap into the future with the delivery of its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

  No single achievement by Royal Air Force Bomber Command is collectively remembered as vividly as the raids on the Möhne, Edersee and Sorpe Dams on the night of 16th May 1943. The unit responsible - 617 Squadron - became known as "The Dambusters" and in May 2013 commemorated 70 years since the raid. Ben Montgomery reports from the Derwent Reservoir.

  It’s not often that the general public have an opportunity to go behind the scenes within the aviation industry but, on the 23rd March, KLM UK Engineering hosted an open day event at their UK Headquarters. Adam Duffield and Duncan Monk attended on behalf of AeroResource.

  Exercise Joint Warrior 13-1, running from 15-29th April 2013, once again drew participation from multiple nations in one of Europe's largest military exercises. The aviation contingent was based at RAF Leuchars and Lossiemouth, from where Ben Montgomery reports for AeroResource.
